It wasn’t even close.
Heelan hardly broke a sweat in a first round thrashing of A-D-M 44-6 on Wednesday night at Olsen Stadium. Brandon Wegher had 4 touchdowns with runs of 4, 84, 13, and 16 yards. Wegher finished with 17 carries for 208 yards and didn’t even play in the 2nd half.

The playoffs begin!
This year, Heelan goes into the post-season as the favorite to win the 3A state championship and 5-4 Adel A-D-M is the first step for Roger Jansen’s Crusaders, Wednesday night at Olsen Stadium. (6:30 pm pre-game on 1360 KSCJ).

On Friday night, the Heelan Crusaders didn’t play very well in a 35-7 win over Sergeant Bluff-Luton on a muddy Memorial Field. If Heelan wants to win their first state championship since 1982, they’ll have to beat the very best that Iowa Class 3A has to offer.
